HISTORY OF POLE DANCING
Pole dancing’s origins are shrouded in some mystery, although it’s believed that is may have begun in Burlesque days during the depression, when carnivals had girls dancing in sideshow tents around tent poles.

More recently, pole dancing has been in vogue with celebrities, increasing their tone, strength and flexibility – Kate Moss, Demi Moore, Terri Hatcher and Angelina Jolie.  Pole dancing has moved out of the bars and into the homes of women worldwide.

Susanne Stuart became excited by the prospect of teaching the ladies of Hong Kong the art of pole dancing after doing a class in Australian in 2004.  Much time and effort resulted in the beginning of Dancercise in a nightclub in Central called Backroom.  The first introductory pole dancing class was sold out and since then thousands of Hong Kong ladies have learnt this athletic but graceful and beautiful art. 

A change of name and a change of venue  - Pole Divas moved to their own private studio in Wing Wo Streetin Central in May 2007 and we now offer a variety of classes to suit all levels and interests.

Pole Divas classes are for people of all shapes, sizes and ages.  You will learn to pole dance to get fit, have fun and leave with a new, confidence boosting skill.  As well as having a very effective workout, you will learn to do some fun moves.  These include bodywaves, dips, swings and spins – all done with “attitude”.  Build your self-confidence, increase your self-esteem and get control of your body image!!!

Our teachers are friendly, fun and supportive.  In our studio, with low lighting and a private environment you will feel relaxed and unselfconscious as you learn to move in a naturally sensuous way.
